Visiting Manzanar National Historic Site was a poignant experience. The United States of America, the land of the free and home of the brave, imprisoned innocent ethnic Japanese citizens and non-citizens in this concentration camp because of their ancestry. One hundred forty-six internees died here. As many Americans seem to hold all Muslims collectively guilty for 9/11, we should pause to remember where such bigotry leads: to monstrous places like Manzanar.
